Five young women regularly borrow from and lend to one another. In fact, only yesterday, each lent and borrowed two different types of clothing, so that if one woman lent a coat, she didn't borrow a coat from anyone. Given that information, it's up to you to discover what each lent, who she lent to and what she borrowed.

1. The woman who borrowed a hat isn't Claire or Simone.
2. Claire lent a jumper to the woman (not Simone) who lent an item of clothing to Georgina.
3. Stephanie lent an item to the woman from whom Helen borrowed a skirt.
4. The woman who lent a coat didn't borrow a dress.

There's three boxes across in the first row, (five squares in each box) two boxes in the second row, and one box in the third.

Clue1 Claire and Simone didn't borrow a hat - delete this as an option from both
Clue 2 Claire lent a jumper (and therefore didn't borrow one) Allocate "Jumper" to Claire Lending and delete from the other ladies' lending options. Delete Jumper from Claires Borrowing options. Simone did not borrow the jumper.
Clue 3. Helen borrowed a skirt, therefore also didn't lend a skirt.
The grid now looks like this

Simone - Borrow: Coat, Dress - Lend: Hat Skirt, Coat, Dress
Georgina - Borrow: Hat Jumper, Coat, Dress - Lend: Hat,Skirt, Coat, Dress

Note that Claire and Simone both borrowed either the coat or the dress. As there are no other options for them it means that Georgina and Stephanie must have borrowed the other two items, the jumper and hat. Delete Coat and Dress from Stephanie's and Georgina's borrowing options.
Clue 2. Claire lent a jumper to the woman who lent an item of clothing to Georgina. Georgina borrowed a hat or jeasy logic puzzlesumper but as Claire herself lent the jumper, Georgina could not have borrowed the jumper and therefore borrowed the hat. This in turn means that Stephanie borrowed the jumper (the only lady left that could have borrowed it).
Same clue claire lent to the woman (stephanie) who lent to Georgina. As georgina borrowed a Hat, it means Stephanie lent the Hat.
Clue 3, Stephanie lent (hat) to the woman (georgina) from whom helen borrowed a skirt. Therefore Georgina lent the skirt.
Clue 4. The woman who lent a coat didn't borrow a dress. Look at the grid, if Simone lent a coat, she would also have to borrow a coat which is not permissable. Therefore Simone Lent the Dress and borrowed the coat.
Looking at the grid this means that Claire borrowed the dress (last option for Claire)
Looking at the grid this means that Helen lent the Coat (last option)
